We thought we would kick start this month with a post about the team’s favourite things about the month of August!
HOLIDAYS & SUNTANS
Of course, most people’s favourite part of August and summer as a whole is going on holiday and having the opportunity to explore different parts of the world whilst spending time away with friends and family. Holidays abroad are also the perfect opportunity to gain a golden suntan (if you’re lucky enough to do so!)
BOOKS
Whether you’re on your commute or suntanning on a lounger, nothing beats reading a good book! This month, the team’s favourites have been: The Choice by Edith Eger, Sweet Sorrow by David Nicholls, Normal People by Sally Rooney (recommended by Leila) and Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman (recommended by Emma).
WARMER WEATHER
Warmer weather and longer days are the perfect opportunity for visiting a local Lido. Some of our top picks are Brockwell, Tooting, Hampstead Heath and The Serpentine in Hyde Park!
LIGHTER EVENINGS
Whether it’s enjoying barbecues in the sun or having relaxing evenings at home, the longer and lighter summer days give us plenty of opportunity to enjoy our evenings after a busy day at work.
BANK HOLIDAYS
August also provides us with an extra-long bank holiday weekend, giving us a chance to unwind and de-stress from work whilst hanging out with our friends, family or simply binge watching Netflix!
FOOTBALL
Exciting news for the football fans – the 8th August marks the kick off of the new Premier League Season along with club record signings, a number of managerial changes and introduction of video assistant referees (very cool).
COMMUTING
To round off our August favourites, the tubes are not as busy through the month, making for a much easier and more enjoyable journey into work!
Last but definitely not least, on the 7th August we get to celebrate the lovely Ros’s birthday!
