24 September 2018

After an unforgettable summer of record-breaking heatwaves throughout the UK, it began to feel as if autumn would never make its return, and although we feel guilty, we can’t wait for those crisp mornings to make a more permanent appearance. Yesterday officially marked the first day of autumn, so it seemed only right that we list the things we’re most looking forward to.

It may seem like a lifetime away, but bonfire night is by far one of our favourite nights of the year. There’s no need to break the bank either, as there are plenty of free displays across London. Southwark fireworks display is one of the biggest free displays in London with over 300,000 people attending each year!

We loved modelling our under-used summer wardrobe for the last few months, but nothing beats cosying up in your favourite chunky knit when the weather gets cooler. Autumn fashion is one of our favourites and provides the perfect opportunity to spruce up your wardrobe.

Nothing screams autumn more than a crunchy looking leaf, and nobody, no matter what age, can resist the urge to step on one! Need some inspiration for the perfect autumnal walk? There are plenty of National Trust walks in London, including Morden Hall Park and Ham House or you could enjoy a long walk along the Thames.

Mulled wine and mulled cider are definitely our drink of choice throughout autumn, but if mulled wine isn’t your tipple of choice, London’s Cocktail Week is just around the corner! From October 1st – October 7th, you can enjoy a seven day celebration and drink discounted cocktails!

Whether it’s celebrating Thanksgiving with family, Halloween with friends or eagerly counting down until Christmas, autumn is filled to the brim with festive cheer and any excuse to eat tasty food and celebrate with a drink sounds like a good idea to us!

We don’t know about you, but September always feels like a chance for fresh starts and allows us to reflect on the year so far and plan for the rest of the year ahead. It’s a great way to boost your motivation and enthusiasm so try and make the most of it.

Nothing says autumn like The Great British Bake Off, Strictly Come Dancing, The X Factor and I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! We love nothing more than cosying up on the sofa and binge watching our favourite episodes and the cold weather outside gives us the perfect excuse.
